Power of breathing

๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ How do I reclaim my working day?
๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ How do I feel more rested and energised?
๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ How do I feel grounded and safe again even in the depths of a panic attack?
๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ How do I look after myself when I’m feeling stressed?
๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ How quickly can I see the effects?

The biggest life hack and self love practice I would say when facing the above scanerios, that can massively transform your life is… breathing exercises! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ (I see you rolling your eyes but hold up for just a moment ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜…)

Science backs up the power of breathing exercises to;
โœ” increase sense of calm
โœ” increase focus
โœ” reduce stress and anxiety
โœ” reduce the ‘noise’ of our brain
โœ” help with sleep

This may be simply focusing on your breath for 2 mins when you wake up or a guided mindfulness mediation session following an app – whatever it is big or small, the effects are instant and life changing.

For those who say they don’t have time, even a couple a minutes to spare, I would suggest incorporating breathing exercises into your daily activities just to trail the benefits. Try it during your morning commute, in a traffic jam or when you’re waiting in a queue.

The 4-7-8 technique by Dr Weil is a simple breathing practice to start of with. You inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7 and exhale for 8.

Alternatively downlaod an app like Headspace or Calm and choose a range of guided mediations.

Now these practices and wisdom have been around for centuries – look at monks and the importance of mediation in so many religions. Nothing new but so relevant in todays busy world. Give it a go ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ
